AEM 4 Port AEMnet CAN Hub

AEM’s 4 Port AEMnet CAN Hub is the perfect solution for connecting multiple AEMnet CAN bus-enabled devices together. This convenient Module provides a central docking station for four AEMnet cables via 4-way DTM-style housings and can provide power to all of the connected devices on the Hub through a single port (3A max current capacity – NOT for use to power UEGO sensor heaters). Users can daisy-chain two 4 Port AEMnet CAN Hubs together for a total of 6 connected devices.

AEMnet buses must be properly terminated using termination resistors on each end of the port (120 Ohms each, see Specs tab for AEM Devices with termination resistors). AEM offers DTM-style 4-pin termination plugs that simplify this process if you have a device that does not have an integrated or selectable termination resistor.

The 4 Port CAN hub is IP67-rated and can be installed in the engine compartment. Mounting hardware and instructions are included.

POWERING DEVICES THROUGH THE 4 PORT AEMNET CAN HUB:

All 4 Port AEMnet Hub ports have the same pinout, so power and ground is only necessary on one port when powering devices through the Hub. IMPORTANT: The Hub has a max current capacity of 3A (do NOT attempt to distribute UEGO sensor heater power through the Hub).

PROPER BUS TERMINATION:

AEMnet buses must be properly terminated for proper operation. The termination resistors are 120 Ohms each and must be located at the physical ends of the bus wires (two total). Please refer below for Termination Resistor availability by AEMnet-enabled device:

The TRU-BOOST boost controller gauge includes an on-board 29 PSIg pressure sensor, built-in overboost protection with two timed shutdown levels, a scramble boost setting and a low-side output for a warning light. A 75 PSIa boost sensor for high boost applications is sold separately (please see TRU-BOOST 5 BAR Ugrade Kit).

AEM’s boost control solenoid is included with the TRU-BOOST controller gauge. It is specifically manufactured for automotive boost applications and will not corrode and stick from exposure to rich fuel mixtures or oil vapor. It is pressure tested to 100 psi and includes barbed fittings and -4 AN fittings to eliminate any chance of leaks.

AEM’s TRU-BOOST Gauge-Type Controller is an electronic boost controller that combines the simplicity of a manual boost controller with the added ease of adjusting boost levels through a gauge interface. There is no external interface required for set up, and it is fully functional right out of the box.

AEM’s 4-Channel K-Type Thermocouple Amplifier provides laboratory-grade accuracy for measuring exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs), or virtually any on-board temperature measurements. This unit utilizes low-cost K-Type thermocouple amplifiers to measure multiple engine system temperatures including EGT with better accuracy and faster response times than many available temperature-measuring devices.

Unlike common single-channel gauges and amplifiers whose readings can vary up to 20 degrees C from actual temperatures, AEM guarantees its 4-Channel K-Type Thermocouple Amplifier to read better than 1% full scale, even at the extremes of the temperature range. The unit achieves its laboratory-grade accuracy via a 100% surface-mounted PCB (printed circuit board) that has four differential temperature inputs fed into an A/D converter and fitted using a stage-three, eighth-order polynomial curve fit. The amplifier then compensates for this value using AEM’s on-board cold junction temperature measurement, and then sends the temperature outputs on feedback-monitored 0-5v analog outputs and an RS-232 serial data stream.

The 4-Channel K-Type Thermocouple Amplifier is ideal for users who want to accurately monitor multiple engine system temperatures, including exhaust gas temperatures (EGT), water, air, coolant, fuel, disc brake and more. Multiple channels allow you to use each amp to simultaneously read different system temperatures (one channel for EGT, one channel for CLT, etc.). Users can utilize ANY K-Type thermocouple including commonly-available miniature thermocouple connectors, and data log the readings via an RS-232 serial data stream. K-Type sensors sold separately.

    Our analog-style gauge-type controller features 320 degrees of resolution for detecting even a tenth of a point change in AFR, and has a high-speed electric stepper motor for lightning-fast needle movement.     WHAT IS A WIDEBAND UEGO AIR/FUEL CONTROLLER?
    AEM's Wideband UEGO (Universal Exhaust Gas Oxygen, pronounced “You-Way-Go”) Controllers are powerful, cost effective tuning tools that allow users to accurately monitor the Air/Fuel Ratio (AFR) of their engine.

    WHY USE A WIDEBAND AIR/FUEL CONTROLLER?
    Accurate AFR data is critical when tuning an engine. Running rich (very low air/fuel ratio, excessive fuel) can cause a loss in power, while running too lean (very high air/fuel ratio, not enough fuel) may result in serious engine damage. Using a wideband air/fuel controller during the tuning process allows you to monitor AFR and adjust tuning parameters to optimize them for maximum power and efficiency. AEM has a comprehensive line of highly accurate, reliable wideband air/fuel controllers that can help ensure your vehicle is optimally tuned.

    WHAT IS FREE-AIR CALIBRATION?
    Some of our competitors require that you frequently perform a free-air calibration procedure to calibrate their O2 sensors. This process involves removing the sensor from the bung while still connected to the controller device, then waving the sensor in the air so it can read atmospheric O2 levels. We use Bosch 4.2LSU sensors in our wideband controllers. Our sensors are individually laboratory-calibrated by Bosch and never require free air calibration!

    CAN I CHANGE THE AEM UEGO SENSOR’S CONNECTOR?
    No. There is a laser-etched, calibrated resistor in the sensor’s connector body. This resistor is specifically created for the exact sensor that it is attached to. Modifying this will invalidate the sensor’s output.

    Our highly popular Analog-Style Wideband O2 air/fuel ratio UEGO gauge features a high-speed electric stepper motor for lightning-fast needle movement and a full 320 degrees of viewing resolution to detect even a .5 degree of change in AFR.     OVERVIEW

    CD-5 Carbon Digital Dash Displays feature a full-color, daylight readable screen surrounded by a tough, lightweight flow-molded carbon fiber composite housing. Seven ultra-bright LEDs span the top of the display housing for RPM and shift light indication. Users can program them to ascend in specific increments based on RPM range and flash when it is time to shift. Brightness is user programmable on the fixed color LEDs. Two large buttons are included on the face of the display, allowing easy page changing and memory resetting even with driving gloves on. These button functions are included in the supplied rear connector, allowing the user to mount remote buttons. Two additional programmable LEDs are located above the toggle buttons on the top of the housing on either side of the integrated LED shift lights.

    The CD-5 Carbon receives channels from two independent CAN bus inputs and it does not require special modules to read AEM and/or 3rd-party CAN signals.     AEM CD5 / CD7 Dash Button Kit

    AEM’s Remote Button Kit easily wires into the harness of a CD Carbon Digital Dash Display for changing pages and resetting various functions like countdown and lap timers. Once installed these buttons perform the same functions as the built-in buttons on the dash display enclosure, but operate remotely and independent of them. Unlike on/off buttons, these buttons are momentary and non-latching.

    This kit includes one blue and one yellow potted weatherproof button that can withstand the rigors of an open-cockpit environment, washers and locking nuts for installation. The 20-inch flying leads provide plenty of length for installing into the 12-pin DTM-style harness on a CD Carbon Digital Dash.

    NOTE: This Remote Button Kit is necessary if you want to change pages on CD Carbon Flat Panel Dashes.

    The 52mm (2-1/16”) Flex Fuel Wideband FAILSAFE Gauge includes a Bosch 4.2LSU AFR wideband sensor for monitoring and feedback of AFR, and an on-board boost sensor to read vacuum or boost pressures up to 29 PSI. It is available with or without an ethanol content sensor for users who may already have one (PN 30-4910 no sensor, PN 30-4911 includes sensor). An internal data logger is included to capture approximately 2.5 hours of data on a loop, and includes two analog outputs for logging AFR, Flex Fuel content and any triggered alarms. The gauge also includes a low side output for triggering a failsafe strategy in the event AFR falls outside of the operating window (see example strategies, below).

    This product is a must have for all tuned performance engines who use Ethanol-based fuels like E85, either forced induction or naturally aspirated. Any high performance vehicle owners who want an accurate AFR tuning tool with integrated logging and the ability save an engine from catastrophic failure will want the Flex Fuel Wideband FAILSAFE device.

    WHAT IT DOES
    After the engine is tuned and a safe operating window of AFR is established, the Flex Fuel Wideband FAILSAFE Gauge continuously monitors AFR/Lambda and Boost/Vacuum to make sure that AFRs do not fall out of a user defined operating window. If it detects an out of range AFR reading, the gauge triggers a low side output (ground signal with a 1.5 amp draw max) that can save your engine from catastrophic damage (see example strategies, below).

    VIBRANT Organic LED DISPLAY
    AEM’s Flex Fuel Wideband FAILSAFE Gauge’s feature a vibrant Organic LED (OLED) center readout that can be user-programmed to display AFR/Lambda and Ethanol Content, Boost/Vacuum and Ethanol Content, or a single input of either AFR/Lambda or Boost/Vacuum. The 24 sweeping outer LED ‘needles’ can be programmed to display AFR or Boost/Vacuum, and corresponding faceplates are included for matching the inputs to the proper display layout (see Specs tab or Images tab for faceplates). A silver bezel is also included to further customize the look of the gauge face.

    EASY TO SET UP
    The gauge’s intuitive software makes set up and configuring the low side output a snap. Setting AFR boundary limits, creating a user-adjustable time delay strategy to prevent false alarms, customizing the gauge lighting to flash and alert the driver if an alarm is triggered and configuring the LED displays are all performed using the software via a USB connection.

    ON-BOARD DATA LOGGER
